At my high school, we had little to no admin involvement. In a case of harassment I reported, the admin neglected to tell me that the no-contact order I had signed in the 9th grade was void when I entered 10th. They acted as though the routes that they'd put into place (that didn't work) was a favor to me. I asked for more help and they denied it. I felt unsafe and ended up switching schools. I'd ask for better harassment policies (asking the victim for what they would feel safe doing, not shaming them when they don't come forward immediately, trauma training for all staff, referral to a professionally trained therapist). I'd also ask for removal of resource officers to help our BIPOC students feel safe. BIPOC students are targeted by cops and resource officers and there are other ways to help kids who misbehave, such as social workers and therapists.
